History
Monsel stands for tradition and modernity.
Located in the Galerie de la Reine for more than 170 years, our shop has reinvented itself over time.
Originally, Monsel was only proposing canes and umbrellas, but since the beginning of the 20th century,
hats, caps, beanies and berets have been added to the selection by the Pauwels family,
who was already owner of the Ganterie Italienne ,
located opposite the Monsel shop, since 1890.
Since then, famous headgear brands share the space with designers at the forefront of fashion
from countries like Belgium, France, Italy, UK, Germany and even Japan.
We always put the accent on quality and design,
the contact with our dear customers is genuinely our priotity
with a large selection of 'Made in Belgium' caps and also canes and umbrellas.
Monsel has been a part of the famous covered galleries of Brussels
since the innauguration of the "Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert" in 1847.
The galleries are among the oldest in Europe, they consist of three neoclassical galleries :
The Galerie de la Reine, the Galerie du Roi and the Galerie des Princes.
